What We Believe
A brief introduction to where we stand on the doctrines of the Scriptures.
Local Church
This Church shall consist of such saved believers on the Lord Jesus Christ as have been baptized by immersion in water, who take the Holy Bible as their only rule of faith and practice in fulfillment of the Great Commission as set forth by Jesus Christ.
Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
Salvation
Salvation is a gift of God that is received by faith in Christ, not of works, and by the free will of each individual.
Government
God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home, 2) the church, and 3) the state. These institutions are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God. We believe that we must obey the state unless it requires us to act contrary to our faith at which time we must obey God rather than the state.
Satan
Satan is a person, the author of sin and contributed to the fall of man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire.
Sinful Nature of Man
Man was created in the image and likeness of God; but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Man is sinful and utterly unable to remedy his lost condition outside the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Human Sexuality
God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between one naturally-born man and one naturally-born woman.
The Godhead
We believe that there is one triune God, eternally existent in the persons of the Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit; these three are one in essence, but distinct in person and function.
Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men through His death, burial, and resurrection.
Holy Scriptures
The Bible is the verbally inspired and infallible, authoritative Word of God and that God gave the words of Scripture by inspiration without error in the original autographs. God promises that He will preserve His Word; Jesus said, “My words shall not pass away” (Mt. 24:35). We believe that the Authorized Version (KJV) is an accurate English translation of the preserved Word of God. It is our practice to use only the Authorized Version (KJV) in the pulpit and all church ministries.
Eternal State
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life with Christ in Heaven, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment in Hell.
Second Coming of Christ
We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, imminent return of Christ, Who will rapture His church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, fight the battle of Armageddon, then establish His earthly millennial reign.
Eternal Security
All the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever unable to lose their salvation.
Creation
God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution and all unscriptural theories of origin.
